BenFen ID FAQ

1. What is BenFen ID?

BenFen ID is an on-chain identity credential. After completing identity verification, you can use BenFen ID to prove to DApps that you meet certain identity conditions, such as completing KYC, meeting age requirements, or complying with regional rules, while reducing the direct exposure of sensitive information.

2. What is the difference between BenFen ID and regular KYC?

Regular KYC usually requires you to repeatedly submit identity information to different platforms.
BenFen ID is designed to help you complete identity verification once and then complete identity verification more conveniently in scenarios that support BenFen ID.
DApps can verify whether you meet the required conditions, but they do not need to directly access your full identity information.

3. Can a DApp see my name, document number, or date of birth?

In a normal verification process, the DApp mainly receives the verification result, such as “Passed” or “Failed”. It will not directly see your complete identity information.

4. Why do I need to upload a document and complete liveness verification?

Document verification and liveness verification are used to confirm the authenticity of your identity, prevent identity misuse, and help meet the compliance requirements of DApps or service providers.

5. What should I do if verification fails?

Verification may fail for the following reasons:
  1. Liveness verification failed;
  2. Document photo is missing;
  3. Document has expired;
  4. Document information is unclear;
  5. Age requirement is not met;
  6. Identity information does not match the document;
  7. Security verification failed;
  8. Submission timed out.
Please resubmit according to the page prompt or contact official customer support for help.

6. What is an identity file?

An identity file is used to generate and verify identity-related proofs later. It contains identity information, supported verification paths, bound wallet address, and address signature.
The identity file may be stored locally in encrypted form or backed up through encryption, so that you can use it for future verification.

7. Why do I need to sync my identity file after switching devices?

If you switch devices, the local identity file on your previous device may no longer be available. In this case, you need to sync the identity file from the server through a signature process.

8. Can I transfer my BenFen ID to someone else?

No. BenFen ID is an on-chain identity credential bound to your identity and cannot be transferred.

9. Why have I completed verification but still cannot claim BenFen ID?

Your current verification result may not yet meet the official policy requirements. The page may prompt you to update your verification status.
After updating, if you meet the rules, the system will prompt you to claim your BenFen ID.

10. Can I view records after authorizing a DApp?

Yes. You can view authorization records on the BenFen ID homepage, including verification time, authorized object, verification result, and on-chain record information.

11. Will BenFen ID verification failure affect my assets?

No. BenFen ID is mainly used for identity verification.
A verification failure usually only means that you currently do not meet the identity requirements of a certain DApp, or that there is an issue with your identity file or verification status. It does not mean your assets are affected.

12. Do I need to complete KYC again for every DApp?

If a DApp supports BenFen ID, you can usually complete identity verification through BenFen ID and reduce repeated identity information submissions.
However, whether additional information is required depends on the rules and requirements of each DApp.
