  1. Estimated Annual Percentage Yield (APY) The estimated annual percentage yield is an indicator used by the BenFi platform to showcase the potential return on investment, typically expressed as a percentage (e.g., 5%). It is calculated based on the platform’s revenue mechanisms (such as staking or lending). However, due to high market volatility, this rate is "estimated," and actual returns may vary due to market changes, asset price fluctuations, fees, etc.
Suppose you stake $1,000 worth of Ethereum (ETH) on the BenFi platform, which shows an estimated annual percentage yield of 8%. This means:
  • Theoretical Profit: If market conditions remain stable, after one year of staking, you could earn $1,000 × 8% = $80 in return.
  • Actual Returns May Vary:
    • Suppose the price of ETH rises within a year. In that case, your returns may be even higher (for instance, if the price of ETH increases by 20%, the value of your staked assets becomes $1,200, and with an additional $80 in staking returns, the total return is even higher).
    • If the price of ETH drops by 30%, the value of your staked assets may fall to $700. Even with an additional $80 staking return, your total value might still be less than your initial principal.
Therefore, the estimated 8% APY is only a reference value, and actual returns depend on market fluctuations, platform rules, and specific operational methods.
  1. Total Expected Deposits for the Period The total expected deposits for the period refer to the total amount of funds the platform anticipates users will deposit or lock in during a specific time frame (e.g., the current activity cycle or a staking round). This is expressed in the platform’s native stablecoin, BUSD.
  2. Total Expected Loans for the Period The total expected loans for the period refer to the total amount of funds the platform anticipates users will borrow during a specific time frame (e.g., the current activity cycle, a staking round, or a mining plan). This is expressed in the platform’s native stablecoin, BUSD.
