1.what is BenPay Card Security Deposit

 
The BenPay Card security deposit is a safety reserve paid when users apply for a BenPay Card. It is designed to improve the stability of card transaction settlement and provide users with a smoother card experience across subscriptions, online payments, cross-border spending, and other use cases.
The security deposit does not affect your normal card spending. Daily payments are still deducted from your card balance, and the security deposit will not be used directly for everyday payments. If you later cancel your card, the refundable security deposit will be returned in two stages according to the refund rules.
 
 

2.Security Deposit Amount

Different BenPay Card types require different security deposit amounts:

Delta Card 50U
Sigma Card 50U
When applying for a card, you can view the required security deposit amount on the payment page.
 
 

3.How to Pay the BenPay Card Security Deposit

During the BenPay Card application process, users need to pay the security deposit on the “Pay Card Opening Fee” page.
The security deposit will be displayed together with the card opening fee, top-up amount, service fees, and other payment details. You can review all fee details before confirming payment.

Step 1: Enter the BenPay Card Application Page

Open the BenPay Card application page and select the card type you want to apply for, such as Alpha Card, Delta Card, or Sigma Card.

Step 2: Fill in Card Application Information

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your identity information and card application details, then submit the application.

Step 3: Enter the Payment Page

After entering the “Pay Card Opening Fee” page, the system will display the security deposit amount required for the selected card.
The page usually includes the following information:
  1. Security deposit
  2. Top-up amount
  3. Amount received
  4. Service fee
  5. Card opening fee
  6. Total amount payable
Please carefully check whether all amounts are correct before making payment.

Step 4: Complete Payment

After confirming that the amounts are correct, click “Pay” to complete the payment.
Once the payment is successful, the security deposit will be placed into your BenPay Card security deposit account and remain frozen while you hold the card.

Step 5: Card Opening Completed

After the card is successfully opened, you can view your card information and security deposit status on the “My Card” page.

4.Will the Security Deposit Be Refunded If I Cancel the Application or Fail the Review?

Yes.
If you cancel your card application during the card opening process, or if your application is not approved, the paid card opening fee, security deposit, and top-up amount will be returned to your payment wallet.

5.How to View the Security Deposit Status

After your card is successfully opened, you can view the current security deposit status on the “My Card” page.

On this page, you can view:
  1. Current card type
  2. Card tail number
  3. Card status
  4. Card balance
  5. Current security deposit amount

 


6.Can the Security Deposit Be Used for Daily Spending?

No.
The security deposit is not part of your card spending balance. It cannot be directly used for everyday payments, subscription payments, or manual withdrawals.
Your daily payments will still be deducted from your card balance. The security deposit mainly serves as a safety reserve for card transaction settlement and may be used in specific scenarios to ensure transaction settlement security. After the card is canceled, it will be refunded according to the refund rules.
 
 

7.How Is the Security Deposit Refunded After Card Cancellation?

After you apply to cancel a BenPay Card, the system will check the card status, card balance, pending transactions, and security deposit status.
If the card meets the cancellation requirements, the security deposit will enter the refund process.
The security deposit will not be refunded all at once. It will be returned in two stages:

1.First Refund

After the card cancellation request is approved, the system will first refund part of the security deposit according to the rules.
The first refund amount and estimated arrival time will be displayed on the card cancellation confirmation page. Please refer to the information shown on the page.
The first refund will be processed 30 days after the cancellation request is submitted. The refund amount is 50% of the security deposit.

2.Second Refund

After the follow-up observation period ends, if there are no new deductions, disputes, or other pending issues, the system will refund the remaining security deposit.
The second refund amount and estimated arrival time will also be displayed on the page. Please refer to the information shown on the page.
The second refund will be processed 60 days after the cancellation request is submitted. The refund amount is the remaining 50% of the security deposit.
 
 

8.Things to Check Before Canceling a Card

Before applying to cancel your card, we recommend checking the following items:
  1. Confirm whether your card balance has been handled.
  2. Confirm whether there are any incomplete transactions.
  3. Confirm whether the card is still linked to any subscription services or auto-payment platforms.
  4. Confirm whether there are any pending settlement transactions.
  5. Read and confirm the security deposit refund rules.
If your card is still linked to subscription or auto-payment services such as ChatGPT, Claude, Midjourney, Google, Apple, Telegram, or similar platforms, we recommend that you cancel the subscription or remove the card from the corresponding platform before applying to cancel the card.
 
 

9.Card Cancellation Process

Step 1: Enter “My Card”

Open the BenPay Card page and select the card you want to cancel.

Step 2: Click “Cancel Card”

Enter the card cancellation confirmation page.

Step 3: Complete Pre-Cancellation Checks

The system will check the following items:
  1. Card status
  2. Card balance
  3. Card cancellation fee
  4. Pending settlement transactions
  5. Possible linked subscription platforms
  6. Other confirmation items
If there is any issue, the page will provide instructions based on the specific situation.

Step 4: View Security Deposit Refund Information

The cancellation confirmation page will display the security deposit refund information, including:
  1. First refund amount
  2. Second refund amount
  3. Estimated arrival time
  4. Refund notes

Step 5: Check the Confirmation Items

After reading and confirming the cancellation instructions, check the relevant confirmation items.

Step 6: Submit the Cancellation Request

Enter your password and confirm the cancellation.
After submission, the card will enter the cancellation process. During the cancellation period, you can view the card status and refund progress on the “My Card” page.

After the card enters the cancellation process, you can view the refund status on the “My Card” page.

You can also go to the BenPay Card page to view transaction records and security deposit changes.

9.Should I remove the card from linked platforms or subscription services before canceling the card?

Yes, we recommend doing so.
If your card is linked to subscription or auto-payment services such as ChatGPT, Claude, Midjourney, Google, Apple, Telegram, or similar platforms, we recommend that you cancel the subscription or remove the card from the corresponding platform before applying to cancel the card.

10.How can I view the security deposit refund progress?

You can go to:
BenPay → Card → My Card → Select the card that is being canceled or has been canceled → View Refund Details
On the refund details page, you can view the first refund, second refund, received amount, pending amount, and estimated arrival time.

11.If the security deposit is deducted, where can I view the reason?

You can view the deduction amount, deduction time, transaction summary, and remaining security deposit amount in the security deposit records or refund details.

12.How can I reduce the possibility of security deposit deductions?

We recommend keeping your card balance sufficient, canceling unused subscription services in time, and confirming that there are no incomplete transactions or auto-payment bindings before canceling the card.
