BenPay Card Cancellation Guide
1. Things to Know Before Canceling Your Card
Before canceling your BenPay Card, please note the following:
Please remove any automatic payments linked to this card in advance
If your card is linked to subscription services, auto-renewal services, or third-party payment platforms, we recommend removing or canceling those bindings first to avoid further payment attempts after the card is canceled.
We recommend transferring your withdrawable balance to your Card Account first
Before submitting a cancellation request, we recommend transferring the withdrawable balance from your card to your Card Account. After the card is canceled, the remaining refundable balance will be returned according to the withdrawal rules.
Card cancellation usually takes about 3–15 business days
Please wait patiently while the request is being processed.
Sigma Card requires 1 USD to be retained during cancellation
When canceling a Sigma Card, 1 USD will be retained as the cancellation fee.
Estimated refund amount = Card balance - 1 USD
For Alpha Card and Delta Card, the cancellation fee is 0.
2. How to Submit a Card Cancellation Request
Step 1: Go to “My Cards”
Open the BenPay website, go to Card / My Cards, and select the card you want to cancel.
Step 2: Click “Cancel Card”
On the card details page, find and click the Cancel Card entry in the bottom action area.
This entry is usually located next to Freeze Card and is displayed in red.
Step 3: Check the Cancellation Information
After clicking Cancel Card, a cancellation confirmation page will appear. The page will show:
- Card type and the last 4 digits of the card number
- Current card balance
- Cancellation fee
- Estimated refund amount
- Pre-cancellation confirmation items
- Card cancellation notice confirmation
Step 4: Confirm Whether the Card Meets the Cancellation Requirements
The system will automatically check whether your card is eligible for cancellation.
In general, the following conditions must be met:
- The card status is normal.
- There are no unfinished or pending transactions.
- For Sigma Card, the card balance is sufficient to cover the 1 USD cancellation fee.
- You have checked the required cancellation confirmation items.
If there are unfinished transactions, abnormal card status, or insufficient balance, you will not be able to submit the cancellation request temporarily. Please follow the page instructions and try again later.
Step 5: Confirm and Submit the Request
After reading the card cancellation notice, check the confirmation items. Once everything is confirmed, click Submit Cancellation Request.
To protect your account security, the system may ask you to enter your payment password for secondary confirmation. After verification is completed, your cancellation request will be officially submitted.
After returning to the My Cards page, the card under cancellation will appear in gray and become unavailable.

3. How Will the Balance Be Returned After Cancellation?
After the card is successfully canceled, BenPay will return the refundable balance to your Card Account.
The balance handling rules vary by card type.

After the cancellation is completed, you can find a balance return record in your transaction history. The note is usually shown as Card cancellation balance refund.
4. What Should I Do If the Cancellation Fails?
If the cancellation fails, the page will display the reason for failure.
Common reasons include:
- The card has pending transactions.
- The card has unsettled bills or outstanding balance.
- The card status is abnormal.
- The card balance is abnormal.
- The card has already been canceled or the card information is invalid.
You can follow the page instructions and try again after resolving the issue, or contact BenPay official customer support for help.
5. Can I Apply for a New Card After Cancellation?
The reapplication rules vary by card type:
- Alpha Card / Sigma Card: After cancellation, you can use your previous information to apply for a new card again.
- Delta Card: After cancellation, you may not be able to apply again using the previous email address. A new email address may be required.
6. Important Notes
To avoid affecting future use, please confirm the following before canceling your card:
- You have canceled any subscriptions or automatic payments linked to this card.
- You have handled any possible refund-related transactions.
- There are no pending transactions on the card.
- You understand the cancellation time and balance withdrawal rules for different card types.
- After submitting a cancellation request, card-related operations will be temporarily unavailable.
