After you submit a request to close your BenPay Card, the system will review your card status, card balance, pending transactions, and Security Deposit status.
If your card meets the requirements for closure, the Security Deposit will enter the refund process.
After the card is cancelled, the security deposit is refunded in two installments:
-
First Refund
After your card closure request is approved, the system will refund a portion of your Security Deposit according to the applicable rules.
The first refund amount and estimated arrival time will be displayed on the card closure confirmation page. Please refer to the information shown on the page.
The first refund will be processed 45 days after the card closure request is submitted, and 50% of the Security Deposit amount will be refunded.
-
Second Refund
After the subsequent review period ends, if there are no additional charges, disputes, or other pending matters, the system will refund the remaining Security Deposit.
The second refund amount and estimated arrival time will also be displayed on the page. Please refer to the information shown on the page.
The second refund will be processed 75 days after the card closure request is submitted, and the remaining 50% of the Security Deposit amount will be refunded.

What Should You Check Before Closing Your Card?
Before submitting a request to close your BenPay Card, we recommend completing the following checks:
-
Confirm that your card balance has been properly handled.
-
Confirm whether there are any ongoing or pending transactions.
-
Confirm whether your card is still linked to any subscription services or recurring payment platforms.
-
Review and confirm the Security Deposit refund rules.
If your card is still linked to subscription or recurring payment services such as ChatGPT, Codex, Midjourney, Google, Apple, or Telegram, we recommend canceling the subscription or removing your card from the relevant platform before requesting card closure.
